Welcome!

"Strike For A Cause" welcomes you to the Charity Bowling Tournament on 7th December 2025 at Pins Entertainment Ltd – Sarit Centre (1st Floor). Play starts from 9:00am and the tournament kicks off sharply at 9:15am (warm-up) — no grace period.

Registration deadline: 6 Dec 2025
Max teams: 22
Team size: 6–7 players (6 bowl during a game)

Quick facts

  • Two group rounds (11 teams each) followed by Finals.
  • Fixtures and lane allocations shared 1 day prior to event.
  • Late teams — gutter rolls until arrival. Emergencies handled case-by-case.
Team & Registration rules

Teams must submit line-ups 1 day before the tournament. Rosters capped at 6 active players; a 7th may be listed as a substitute.

Captains are responsible for the one-time registration fee and must channel any protests to the Tournament Coordinator immediately. Decisions by the Tournament Coordinator are final.

Scores & Points

The tournament is decided on 1 game — highest pin scratch. Tie-breakers: scratch pins total, then head-to-head. For ties in a game, a roll-off in the 9th & 10th frames applies.

Late bowlers will roll gutters (0) until they arrive. All games start at scheduled time unless the Coordinator directs otherwise.

Machine errors & scoring

If the machine shows a zero after a knockdown, it will be treated as a strike. If pins move off the pinhole and remain standing but the machine indicates zero, the score is calculated as 10 minus remaining pins (e.g., 2 left → score 8).

When the scoreboard displays a legal roll but the machine clears pins, a reset may be performed for the second roll. Rules exist for splits and dropped pins — referees will rule on a case basis.

Conduct & equipment

House balls are on a first-come-first-serve basis among tournament players. Personal balls allowed; owners assume full responsibility for safety and liability.

Stepping on the foul line results in a zero for that ball — referees will enforce this from knockouts to finals.

Detailed Rules (Full text)

All bowlers must be registered by 6th December 2025. The tournament shall host a maximum of 22 teams. The tournament will have two (2) group rounds whereby 11 teams will play the 1st round followed by 2nd round and the FINALS (Decider).

A team must consist of at least six (6) Bowlers and a sub (optional). Tournament will start at sharp 9:15am on the said day, the fixtures will be shared 1 day prior to the event date with lane allocation for each team. Failure to be on time the team will have their team players throw guttered until they turn up. In case of medical emergency or death in the family the Player missing in the team can replace with a sub. Failure to show up for their allocated time slot the Team will have a walk over.

A team must comprise a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 7 players, 6 of whom shall bowl during the game session. Team captains must submit the team line-up 1 day prior to the tournament day. The start time is set by the Tournament Coordinator and will be followed as closely as possible. Only the Tournament Coordinator reserves the right to postpone the play of the game until the next start time.

All bowlers must be present by the completion of the practice. Late bowlers will not be allowed any warm-up. Key times to remember: (9:15am, warm-up; 9:25am -start; NO GRACE PERIOD). There shall be no break between warm-up and the first game.

Should a team not show up for a game without prior communication on agreed terms by the team, their opponent(s) and the management, a walkover shall apply. This shall apply except on: Emergency.

Any protest declared by any team must be submitted to the Tournament Coordinator immediately. Such protests shall be channeled through the respective Captain of the team affected. Any decision made by the Tournament Coordinator is deemed final.

Bowling Balls; On a game night, a ‘first-come-first-serve’ policy shall apply to house-balls use among tournament players. House balls under use in a lane by tournament player shall only be handed over at the request with the help of the attendant and only upon the one using it agrees to it. Personal bowling balls are allowed. The individual owner(s) assume all the responsibilities and risks on the personal ball use and safety and therefore Pins or the Organiser of the tournament shall not assume any liability thereof.

Rosters are limited to 6 players during which the team shall use the extra players as subs as needed throughout the tournament. Roster members cannot bowl for any other teams during the regular tournament. The captain is responsible for turning in the team’s one-time registration fee.

Scores and Points Award Rules
The Strike For A Cause, Charity Tournament, will be a one game for highest PIN scratch. Two groups of 11 teams will play as per their allocated time and lane allocation. In case of a tie during group stage match, scratch pins total shall take precedence. Where pins scratch totals, too, tie, the head-to-head match shall count. In the event of a tie in a game, a roll-off shall be undertaken on both the 9th and 10th frames to break the tie.

Late bowler(s) shall be subjected to gutter rolls (0) till the frame and time that they shall have shown up. All games shall therefore start at the indicated time unless otherwise directed by the Tournament Coordinator.

Machine errors; If during a ball roll/shot, upon knocking all the pins down, the machine error gives a (_) zero score, it shall be considered a strike. When a pin(s) moves off the pinhole and remains to stand, while at that particular roll, the machine indicates zero, (_), the pins shall be considered left hence the score shall be the resulting subtraction of the pins left from the total 10 pins. e.g., if 2 pins remain, the score shall be 8 at that ball roll.

Where the scoreboard indicates the score resulting from a legal roll/shot, e.g., 9, while the machine erroneously drops and clears the remaining pins, a reset for the said pin(s), 1, in this case, shall be done for the second roll/shot.

That upon a roll/shot, one is left with a split, and the machine indicates a zero (_) at that particular roll, the split shall be reset for the next roll. Where the machine clears a pin in a split due to the pin missing the pinhole after moving off after a shot as the pin table comes down, and the scoreboard shows a zero (_), it shall be considered a scored pin hence the split shall not be reset, instead the remaining pins standing shall be reset. When the machine technically drops a pin upon lifting to clear the pin deck, with a clear score already on the scoreboard, such pin shall be reset for the next supposed next shot.

Stepping on the foul line shall result in a zero (0) for the affected ball roll/shot. This shall be determined or ruled on by a decision of the tournament management-appointed referee in consultation with and notice to the affected captains. N/B: There shall be an assigned referee (trained on the rules) in each pair of lanes on session from the knockouts to the finals to oversee the implementation of this rule and any other rules herein.
